LOT 375 1807/6 S-272 R4+ Overdate Small 7 over 6 G4 Slightly sharper where the devices were fully struck up but there is weakness at the top of both sides. Both sides show numerous nicks. A dent over the first A in AMERICA is the only notable mark. Slightly glossy medium chocolate with lighter brown in protected areas. The date is complete and clear and the overdate feature is obvious. Graded G5 net G4 in the Noyes census, his photo #23961. Bland says G4 as well. $2,000

1807/6 S-273 R1 Overdate Large 7 over 6 NGC graded AU55, CAC Approved Frosty medium steel brown and light chocolate with golden tan in protected areas, mostly on the obverse. Choice free of marks except for two spots of crusty reddish verdigris on the reverse: one at the second S in STATES and a smaller one at the left top of the C in CENT. LDS, Breen state IV, with strong die clashmarks on the obverse, an obvious bulge in the field at the lower curls, and a narrow rim cud at ST in STATES. The overdate feature is bold. Our grade is net EF40. The attribution and Eric Newman/EPNNES provenance are noted on the NGC label. $4,500
