1803 S-262 R3 Small Fraction VG8 Sharpness near F15 but lightly corroded in the fields and protected areas, smooth on the highpoints. No verdigris, just a few small contact marks including a rim nick at TY and another right of the F in OF. Slightly glossy olive brown and steel. MDS, Breen state II, with a die line up through the bust but no cracks on the reverse. The date and legends are complete and clear. $150

LOT 360

1803 S-263 R3 Small Fraction VF20 Sharpness VF30 but there is a small area of light corrosion and verdigris at the 1 in the date and another patch at ST in STATES. A splash of reddish toning from ON to EN also contains traces of fine verdigris. The remainder of the planchet is smooth. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown with a few splashes of reddish brown on both sides, mostly on the reverse. M-LDS, Breen state VI, with a strong cud break that connects the date to the rim and a fine crack from the 3 to the bust. $750
