Lot 100 1814 S-295 R-1 Plain 4 PCGS XF45. Frosty deep chocolate brown with a few reddish chocolate spots and deeper crimson in some protected areas. There is also shallow oxidation around the lowest hair curl. Smooth surfaces otherwise. V-LDS, Breen state XIV, Smith state 14. Our grade is VF30. $ 400 Ex; William C. Lot 101 1814 S-295 R-1 Plain 4 Double Struck VG7. F12 sharpness but lightly corroded with fine roughness on the surfaces and specks of old verdigris in some protected areas. There are also a few scratches under the portrait revealing the underlying red. Other wise medium to dark olive browns, lighter on the central areas than the peripheries. Double struck on the obverse, with a full double profile and doubling around the stars, this most likely being a reverse brockage maker. EDS+, Breen state II. $ 130 Ex; C.F.
