Lot 46 1810 S-285 R-2 XF40. Near AU sharpness but there are a couple of very light scratches in the fields and the surfaces have been recolored a mix of olive and steel tones. Lot 47 1810 S-285 R-2 PCGS VF30. Pleasing glossy medium brown with hints of lighter brown on the reverse. There is a small scratch under star 1, the only noteworthy marks. Smooth surfaces. Lot 48 1810 S-285 R-2 PCGS XF Detail (Altered Surf.). XF sharpness but cleaned and retoned and now a mix of steel and tan browns mottled with deeper steel spots. There is also a corrosion spot at IC in AMERICA and traces of verdigris in the protected areas around CENT. Smooth otherwise with only a couple trivial marks. LDS, Breen state III, Smith state 3.
