Lot 22 1808 S-279 R-1 PCGS XF40. Dark brown and ruddy brown with deep olive along the lower left reverse. The notable marks include a couple pin scratches between the bottom hair curl and star 13, another above star 7, and a speck of verdigris below O in ONE. Smooth surfaces. Lot 23 1808 S-279 R-1 F15. 10 points sharper but the rather glossy surfaces are covered with micro granularity. Free of notable marks, nice bold details. Medium brown and deep steel with an arc of olive along the reverse periphery at AMERICA and below the wreath.
