S-60 EX DOWNING-SHELDON

LOT 70 1794 S-60 R3 Head of 1794 VF25 . Attractive glossy medium olive brown with very subtle lighter brown woodgrained toning at the upper part of the reverse. Smooth and sharp; choice if not for a scratch from the earlobe to the throat. The only other notable mark is a diagonal nick at the left top of the E in ONE. E-MDS, Breen state II late, Heck 2, with heavy die clashmarks at the top of the head. Graded VF30 and tied for CC#11 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 net VF25 and tied for CC#16, his photo #26066.
