EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

1794 S-54 R3 Head of 1794 VF25 . Glossy light olive and medium brown with a puff of reddish brown toning at LI and a smaller one on the chin. The surfaces are smooth except for the central part of the reverse where there are tiny planchet chips and nicks. The only notable marks are a couple faint diagonal hairline scratches through the E in CENT. The obverse would grade a nice VF30 but the reverse is weaker, perhaps net VF20. M-LDS, Breen state III, Heck state 2., with die clashmarks on both sides. Graded VF30 net VF20 and tied for CC#16 in the Noyes census, his photo #25831.
