FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS
LOT 55 1794 S-49 R2 Head of 1794 VF30 . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with slightly darker steel brown on the highpoints. Lightly worn with very nice eye appeal. The only defects are some fine planchet laminations on both sides and a small planchet fissure at the rim over the R in LIBERTY and at the opposing edge at the end of the right wreath ribbon (all as struck). Otherwise just a few microscopic ticks of no significance. LDS, Breen state II, Heck 5, with a strong die crack down through the E into the hair where it fades away left of the ear. Graded VF25 and tied for CC#16 in the Noyes census, his photo #25922.
