CHOICE S-295 WITH DOUBLE PROFILE

LOT 367 1814 S-295 R1 Plain 4 PCGS graded MS63 Brown . Lustrous medium steel brown with small peeps of lighter golden tan faded down from mint color on the reverse. Satiny and very attractive with just the slightest hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. The only marks are some tiny specks of darker toning on the obverse, none notable. M-LDS, Breen state XI, with crumbling on the neck and throat (the so-called “Beard Variety). The die crack arcing through star 11 and the lowest curl and the 8 is complete from rim to rim. In addition there is a clear double profile on the nose, lips, and chin. Struck slightly off center to K-9. Our grade is AU58. An attractive example of a neat die state; looks choice mint state. 36517.63/61275961
