LOT 344 1807 S-275 R3 Large Fraction PCGS graded AU Detail, Cleaned . Very attractive glossy chocolate and olive brown with frost in protected areas, especially on the reverse. Nicely struck with just a light touch of friction on the devices. The only defects are a tiny nick below the lower end of the hair ribbon and a hint of extremely faint roughness near the rim left of the lower curls. E-MDS, Breen state II early, with minor crumbling in the dentils left of the L in LIBERTY but no trace of a bulge in that area. Graded EF45 and tied for CC#3 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 and tied for CC#3, his photo #26032. Our grade is EF40+ . Do not agree with the “Cleaned” assessment from PCGS. The color is original and quite attractive. Copper experts Bland and Noyes agree. You decide. The finest in both lists is impounded in the Ashmolean Museum in London. 36448.92/52084644
