FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS

LOT 337 1805 S-268 R3 Blunt 1 PCGS graded VF35 . Glossy brown and light olive with lighter brown toning in some of the protected areas. Smooth with light to moderate wear and only minor marks including a light arcing impression near the dentils before the bust and neck (probably an impression of the rim of another cent) and some light nicks in the fields on either side of the portrait. The reverse is choice. LDS, Breen state III, with an obvious bulge at the D in UNITED. Graded VF25 net F15 and tied for CC#25 in the Noyes census, his photo #25943. 36430.35/56549998

LOT 338 1805 S-269 R1 Pointed 1 VF35+ . Glossy medium brown and light olive mottled with some darker chocolate and olive brown tones on the reverse. The obverse is smooth and choice but there are traces of microscopic roughness and shallow verdigris on the reverse. A pinprick over the right top of the E in ONE is a good identifying mark. The eye appeal of this cent is quite nice in spite of the imperfect surfaces on the reverse. LDS, Breen state V, with all the die rust, clashmarks, and dull cracks described by Breen. Graded EF45 net VF35 and tied for CC#22 in the Noyes census, his photo #29257.
