EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 319 1803 S-254 R1 VF35 . Glossy steel brown and light chocolate with a spot of lighter reddish brown toning at TE in STATES. A sharp cent with nice eye appeal, but the obverse fields are covered with very fine hairlines and the spot at TE is covered with microscopic roughness. The rest of the planchet is smooth and void of notable marks. Sharply struck MDS, Breen state III, with a die crack arcing through the end of the bust. Graded EF40 net VF30 by Noyes, his photo #25944.
