LOT 30 1794 S-29 R2 Head of 1794 PCGS graded AU58 . Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with slightly darker steel brown on the highpoints. Lightly worn and choice except for some microscopic hairlines on the obverse and a barely visible speck of carbon on the neck. Otherwise quite nice and the eye appeal is outstanding. EDS, Breen state I, Heck state 3, before any trace of a die crack at the R in AMERICA. The fields on the reverse are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to the new die used for this variety. Graded EF40 by Bland. Noyes says 45 net 35, his photo #39040. Our grade is EF40 . LOT 31 1794 S-29 R2 Head of 1794 VF30 . Choice glossy light to medium brown with frost in some of the protected areas. Smooth and very attractive with just a few trivial marks including a thin nick left of the lower curls, a very light rim bruise left of the L, and some planchet chips on the unstruck portion of the planchet outside UNITED. MDS, Breen state II late, Heck 2, with a light die crack from the rim to the center of the R in AMERICA. Struck about 5% off center to K-3.5. Graded VF25 and tied for CC#22 in the Noyes census, his photo #28949.
