FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS

CONDITION CENSUS S-190

LOT 241 1800/798 S-190 R3 Style I Hair, Overdate 800 over 798 VF30+ . Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has fantastic eye appeal for the grade. Smooth with just a few trivial contact marks including a couple small ticks off the upper end of the hair ribbon, a short horizontal nick over NT in CENT, and a small rim nick at the second A in AMERICA. LDS, Breen state III, with die chips at RICA and the fraction. The 8/7 overdate feature is clear. Graded VF30 and tied for CC#5 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 net VF30 and tied for CC#5, his photo #25937. A beautiful cent with a great provenance.
