LOT 170 1797 S-139 R1 VF35 . Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate with frosty lighter brown in protected areas. Smooth with trivial marks and very nice eye appeal. A spot of reddish chocolate brown toning right of the Y, another left of the C in CENT, and a small rim nick at TE in STATES are the only marks. LDS, Breen state V, with cracks and buckling left of the lower curls. Graded EF40 net VF35 and tied for CC#11 in the Noyes census, his photo #33325. A beautiful cent in a neat die state.

CHOICE 1797 S-140

LOT 171 1797 S-140 R1 PCGS graded AU58 . Choice glossy steel brown and chocolate with frosty lighter brown and tan in protected areas, especially on the reverse. Lightly worn with smooth surfaces and superior eye appeal. A dull nick over the left top of the O in ONE is the only notable mark. M-LDS, Breen state VII, with swelling and die cracks on both sides. Graded EF45 and tied for CC#5 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 Choice and CC#5, his photo #26743. Our grade is EF45. A beautiful cent. 35951.58/61275936
