FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS
1793 S-11b R4 Wreath Cent with Lettered Edge, Double Leaf VG8 . Mostly glossy light chocolate brown blending to darker olive brown in protected areas. Looks smooth but there is very fine roughness in the fields and protected areas, especially on the reverse. No verdigris and the only marks are two small digs near the hair left of the eye. LDS, Breen state IV, with die polishing that removed clashmarks but also weakened the profile. The date and legends are easily readable, and the edge lettering is strong including the two leaves following DOLLAR.
