LOT 164 1797 S-135 R3 PCGS graded AU50 . Lightly worn but both sides are weakly struck thanks to shallow low spots and small planchet chips, mostly on the head and inside the wreath. The toning is a very nice glossy light chocolate brown with lighter brown in protected areas. MDS, Breen state III, before any swelling or die clashmarks. Graded EF40 by Noyes, his photo #26060. LOT 165 1797 S-136 R3 VF25 . Choice glossy medium brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the devices. Smooth and virtually flawless with superior eye appeal. E-MDS, Breen state II, with faint die clashmarks on the reverse. Struck 5% off center to K-7.5. A really nice cent that comes with an equally nice provenance.
