EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

1793 S-10 R4 Wreath Cent VG7+ . Glossy brown and light chocolate with some reddish chocolate in protected areas on the reverse. Smooth with minor marks, none notable. M-LDS, Breen state II, with die failure at the dentils before the nose and mouth and significant swelling in the center of the reverse. The date and LIBERTY are clear.

Ex 1982 EAC Sale, lot 201-Fred H. Borcherdt Collection

1793 S-11a R4+ Wreath Cent with Vine & Bars Edge G6 . Mostly glossy light chocolate brown but there is fine roughness in the fields and protected areas plus more-obvious pitting on the right half of the obverse. No verdigris and the only notable contact marks are a few small rim nicks at BER. EDS, Breen state I, before any die clashmarks. The date is clear as are most of the legends.
