LOT 158 1797 S-129 R5 M over E in AMERICA VG8 . Sharpness VF20 with smooth surfaces but too many contact marks, mostly on the reverse. The most significant mark is a dull chip or dig in the hair left of the neck, and there are at least a dozen small rim nicks on the reverse. LDS, Breen state II, with faint die cracks from the dentils left of the upper edge of the hair ribbon. Graded F15 net VG8 and tied for CC#10 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF20 net VG8 and tied for CC#10, his photo #25664. The date and legends are clear and the M over E error is strong.
