LOT 140 1796 S-119 R3 Draped Bust PCGS graded AU58 . Glossy light olive and steel brown with a swipe of lighter reddish tan through BERT. Slightly sharper with very light friction on the devices, but there is a dull diagonal scratch in the hair left of the shoulder. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state II, with fine die cracks on the obverse but no rim cuds on the reverse. Graded AU55 net AU50 by Noyes, his photo #29055. Our grade is EF45. 35870.58/57516990

LOT 141 1796 NC-1 R6- Draped Bust VG8+ . Glossy dark olive brown with slightly lighter steel brown on the devices. The surfaces appear smooth but there are traces of very shallow verdigris in protected areas. The only mark is a rim nick at the second S in STATES. The eye appeal of this cent is quite nice in spite of the dark toning. EDS, Breen state I, before any die cracks. Graded VG8 and tied for CC#4 in the Bland census. Noyes says F12 net VG7 and tied for CC#7, his photo #25799. About 25 examples are known of this variety, the finest grading VF25 while most are in very low grade.
