FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS

LOT 124 1796 S-109 R3 Draped Bust VF20 . Mostly glossy dark olive brown with lighter brown in protected areas. The toning is uneven and both sides are covered with tiny contact marks including a fine diagonal scratch through EN in CENT. In addition there are traces of roughness and verdigris on the upper part of the reverse; the rest of the planchet is free of corrosion. E-MDS, Breen state II, with the right end of the wreath ribbon disconnected from the knot. Graded EF40 net VF20 and tied for CC#7 in the Noyes census, his photo #25755. A sharp cent with just a light touch of wear, but is has far too many marks for this level of detail.
