LOT 116 1796 S-102 R4 Draped Bust VF35 . Glossy medium olive with frosty lighter brown in protected areas. Sharp and smooth with very light wear on the devices and excellent eye appeal. The notable marks are a spot of darker reddish olive brown toning over the hair ribbon, a very light rim bruise over AT in STATES, and a few small puffs of reddish brown toning on the reverse. LDS, Breen state II early, with a die crack through BE and the hair into the field before the face where it fades out before reaching the rim. Graded VF35 and CC#4 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF40 net VF35 and CC#3, his photo #27274. The obverse of this cent is plated in Dr. Sheldon’s Early American Cents.
