EDS, Breen state I, before any crumbling on the profile. Graded F15 by Bland and tied for CC#9. Noyes says VF25 net VF20 and tied for CC#5, his photo #39883. LOT 100 1796 S-87 R3 Liberty Cap PCGS graded XF45 . Glossy chocolate brown and steel with traces of lighter brown in protected areas on the obverse. Smooth with very nice eye appeal. A few faint hairline scratches under the bust and an incipient planchet clip at the F in OF are the best identifying marks. M-LDS, Breen state III, with a die crack through the 7 and bust to the pole and die rust at the U in UNITED. Struck about 5% off center to K-8.5 affecting only the dentils on both sides. Graded VF30 Choice and tied for CC#8 in the Noyes census, his photo #33277. Our grade is VF25+ . 35768.45/57516981
