 ANOTHER RARE DIE STATE

LOT 517 1850 N-14 R4 VF35+. Glossy light olive blending to darker olive brown in protected areas. Smooth and attractive with light to moderate wear and very nice eye appeal for the grade, close to EF40. There are a few very light contact marks on the cheek, a dull nick on the top of the eyebrow, and a dull nick on the rim at the C in AMERICA. Extremely rare terminal die state, die state i, with 6 rim cud breaks on the reverse. The final rim cud break at TE in UNITED is clear while the others are visible but not especially strong. LOT 518 1850 N-15 R2 PCGS graded MS65 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous mellowed mint red fading to light olive brown and steel with about a third of the planchet showing some mint color. Satiny and nearly flawless with great eye appeal. The best identifying marks are a dull, light tick on the end of the chin, a thin nick on the jaw, and a small spot of slightly darker toning on the left side of star 11. Rare M-LDS, die state b. The die lines from the dentils over star 5 are gone. Our grade is MS63+. The attribution and Iskra Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 403947.65/81174553
