EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 563 Pair of 1803 & 1823/2 Large Cents . Pair of Large cents, including an 1803 S-243 R-2 EDS F12 net VG7 for granularity, and an 1823/2 N-1 R-2 F12 net G5 for granularity and cleaning.

LOT 559 Pair of 1801 & 1805 Large Cents . Pair of Large cents, including an 1801 S-224 R-1 MDS G6, and an 1805 S-269 R-1 VG10 net G6 for light corrosion.

LOT 560 1802 S-232 R-1 PCGS VF30 . Attractive glossy chocolate brown with lighter steel on some high points. There is a small arc shaped pin scratch through the tops of IBE, no other notable marks. Smooth and attractive for the grade. MDS, Breen state IV. Our grade is F15. 20936110

LOT 564 1803 S-256 R-3 F15+ . Five points sharper but there are several minor rim bumps. The most notable are under 1, above IB in LIBERTY, below the fraction, and at CA in AMERICA. Smooth, hard surfaces. Rather glossy dark olive and steel browns, a shade or two lighter on some high points. LDS, Breen state VI, with a reverse rim break at STA.

LOT 561 1802 S-237 R-2 G5 . A point or so sharper but there are scattered pits and ruddy old scale on either side, most notably in the upper hair and before the neck. Otherwise dark steel and olive surfaces. Full date and legends.

LOT 565 1803 S-258 R-1 F12 . VF20 sharpness but there are several scratches across TED-STA and a spot of verdigris at BE iN LIBERTY. The only other marks are a rim bruise right of the date and a bit of grainy crud in some reverse protected areas around the lower wreath. Otherwise mostly olive brown with deeper maroon outlining the devices. M-LDS, Breen state III.

LOT 562 1802 S-238 R-4 G5 . Sharpness VG10 but dark olive and covered with greenish patina and verdigris. Most likely rescued from soil but the roughness is not severe. Some fine scratches hidden in the patina. The date and legends are complete and easily readable. MDS, Breen state II, with additional die cracks on the reverse.

LOT 566 1803 S-262 R-3 VG10+ . VF25 sharpness but covered with uniform granularity on both sides.
