LOT 175 1795 C-5b R-4 No Pole Thick Planchet VF35 . XF sharpness but there are a couple pin pricks above B in LIBERTY. There are also minor rim bumps over L and below 1, Otherwise choice light brown on smooth, hard surfaces. Great eye appeal and sharply struck considering the heavy planchet. EDS, Manley State 1.0. 114.6 grains. Plated in color in the Cohen catalog. Comes with a great provenance.

LOT 178 1797 C-1 R-2 1 above 1 F12 . Glossy dark steel brown and chocolate. The surfaces are smooth and show trivial marks visible only with the aid of a strong glass. Undertype from the cut-down Talbot Allum & Lee Cent planchet shows clearly at ICA. Virtually flawless, clear date and legends. Nicely struck EDS, Manley state 1.0.

LOT 176 1795 C-6a R-2 VF20 . 5 points sharper but there is planchet chip on the bottom reverse. Trivial marks and abrasions in the field otherwise Semi-glossy chocolate and steel brown’s with deeper steel on the high points and lower reverse. MDS, Manley state 2.0.

LOT 177 1795 C-6b R-6 G5 . A point or two sharper with a small, round punch mark at CA that created a slight bump in the field at the right base of Y. A few faint hairlines in the field under the cap and inside the wreath are the only other marks. Dark olive brown and chocolate. The surfaces are covered with extremely fine roughness that is mostly hidden by the fairly glossy patina. The date is weak as usual, but is readable. The remainder of the legend is relatively clear. LDS, Manley State 2.0. Weight 115.1 grains

LOT 179 1797 C-2 R-3 VF20 . Glossy chocolate and steel brown’s mottled with dark bluish steel toning on the obverse and a tiny speckles of red and tan on along the lower obverse dentils and below TES in STATES. The only mark is an impressed planchet cutter arc in the dentils from TY down to before the nose, as struck. Nicely struck, strong date and legends. EDS, Manley state 1.0.
