THE TERRY DENMAN COLLECTION PART II  CONDITION CENSUS1838 N-1

LOT 103 1838 N-1 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown . Lustrous light olive and bluish steel with peeps of faded mint color remaining on both sides. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is very nice. The only marks, and they are trivial, are a speck of crud in the field just off the tip of the bust, a very faint spot of reddish brown toning in the field midway between the chin and star 2, and a tiny splash of crud at the dentils off the end of the wreath stem. E-MDS with fine die flowlines in the fields and a clearly defined rim cud break at star 1. Called MS65 Choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #20977. He also listed this piece as MS63 under photo #55042. Either way it’s a nice cent. Our grade is MS63+ . 37180.65/25134737

LOT 104 1838 N-1 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown . Lustrous light brown woodgrained with darker steel brown tones on the left half of the obverse. No spots or contact marks. A group of very tiny low spots caused by debris on the die shows over NT in CENT. M-LDS, die state e, with a small rim cud over star 5 and a larger one from above star 6 to right of star 7. The repunching on the left side of the I in UNITED is strong. Called MS61 in the Noyes census, his photo #37109. Our grade is MS60+. 37180.63/15115724
