EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS
LOT 93 1837 N-9 R1 Beaded Hair Cord EF40 . Slightly sharper but very lightly smoothed on the highpoints giving them a higher gloss than normal. Otherwise sharp and attractive with glossy light steel brown toning on the devices and mint frost in protected areas. A speck of carbon right of the D in UNITED is the only notable mark. Terminal die state, state k, with numerous die cracks on the obverse and a series of narrow but clearly visible rim cuds from star 11 to below the 7 in the date.

LOT 94 1837 N-10 R1 Beaded Hair Cord, PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown . Lustrous mint red fading to steel brown on the devices with nearly half the planchet showing some mint color. Just microscopic marks including a fine hairline scratch right of the date, another over star 3, and a light vertical scuff right of star 2. A speck of darker toning near the dentils over star 5 is a good identifying mark. MDS (the rim under the date is incomplete so the presence of rim cuds is difficult to determine). The “Accessory N” that is hidden in the leaves below the normal N in UNITED is clear. A very attractive cent. Our grade is MS63. (The reverse of the holder is scratched.). 1730.64/16138426
