LOT 87 1837 N-3 R3 Plain Hair Cord, Medium Letters, PCGS graded MS64 Brown . Very attractive lustrous light bluish steel brown with generous traces of mint red remaining in protected areas. The surfaces are satiny and nearly flawless. The best identifying marks are a small spot of darker chocolate brown toning in the field midway between star 1 and the throat and a small streak of medium brown toning left of star 13. Sharply struck EDS. The dentils are sharp around both sides and fine die clashmarks show inside the wreath. The reverse is cracked around the legend with the exception of STATE, as always on this variety. A sharp, very attractive cent. Noyes photo #60998. Our grade is MS62. 37153.64/15107446

LOT 88 1837 N-4 R2 Plain Hair Cord, Medium Letters MS60 . Lustrous light bluish steel brown with faded mint color peeking through in protected areas on both sides. The obverse is very delicately mottled with puffs of slightly darker steel toning. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has very nice eye appeal. Essentially flawless. A very tiny vertical nick in the field before the tip of the nose and a tick on the left side of the O in ONE are the best identifying marks, and they are barely visible with a glass. E-MDS with very fine radial flowlines in the fields, strongest near the dentils. Noyes photo #20850. Our grade is MS60.
