LOT 68 1835 N-14 R2 Head of 1836, NGC graded AU58 Brown . Glossy medium brown with frosty lighter golden tan faded down from mint color in a few protected areas. Smooth with some small contact marks including a diagonal nick right of the eye, a small dig before the lips, a dull nick over the 35, and another below the N in ONE. M-LDS, die state b late. The center dot on the reverse is weak but still visible. Our grade is EF40 sharpness net VF35. 308055-002

LOT 69 1835 N-14 R2 Head of 1836, PCGS graded MS64 Brown . Lustrous light bluish steel brown and tan blending to light olive on the obverse. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even on the highest points of the devices, and the eye appeal is very nice. The only marks are a few delicate puffs of darker olive and steel toning on the obverse, including one in the field above the right edge of star 2 and another on the neck near the curl, plus a planchet flake on the rim over the right edge of the M in AMERICA (as struck). LDS, die state c. The dies are worn, the center dot on the reverse is gone, and the tiny lump on the base of T in CENT is nearly gone. Clear doubling caused by die bounce (machine doubling) shows along the back edge of the ear. Noyes graded MS60 and tied for CC#7, his photo #20932. Our grade is MS63. Comes with an old provenance. 37063.64/25137659
