 TERMINAL STATE N-10

LOT 62 1835 N-10 R4+ Head of 1834, Small 8 VG7+ . Glossy light olive and steel brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas. Very attractive with even wear and trivial marks, quite nice for a worn cent, close to VG8. Very rare terminal die state, state e, with a bold cud break at D-STAT. Graded VG10 net VG7 and finest of the terminal die state in the Noyes census, his photo #20946. And it comes with a very impressive provenance.

 FINEST 1835 N-11 RARITY

LOT 63 1835 N-11 R4+ Head of 1834, Small 8 & Stars, PCGS graded MS62 Brown . Attractive lustrous light to medium steel brown with subtle hints of light bluish steel overtones in the fields and protected areas. Slightly darker steel brown toning shows on the highest points of the devices. The fields are satiny and this cent has very nice eye appeal. The notable marks are a light rim bruise left of the date, a small planchet chip or nick in the dentils left of star 5, a puff of dark olive toning on the jawline, and a small vertical swipe of darker toning on the bottom of the wreath ribbon. E-MDS, die state a. There is a faint die crack or die line passing through the base of 835 and there are fine die cracks through most of the legend on the reverse. The dentils around both sides are bold. Our grade is MS60. This cent is the second finest known of the variety. The next best are a pair of AU50 examples, and one of those is impounded in the ANS. The condition census falls off quickly following those two pieces. A very nice cent. 1717.62/25311310
