LOT 49 1835 N-1 R1 Head of 1834, Large 8 & Stars, PCGS graded MS63 Brown . Lustrous bluish steel and light olive with a half dozen tiny splashes of lighter reddish brown toning on the reverse including one inside the O in ONE and another at the left top of the U in UNITED. A tiny vertical nick or planchet chip on the truncation over the 8 is the best identifying mark. M-LDS, die state b. A fine radial die crack now connects the midpoint of the earlier crack from star 11 to star 12 to the dentils. A satiny, attractive cent. Our grade is MS63. 37105.63/25120856 Ex Denis W. LOT 50 1835 N-2 R3 Head of 1834, Small 8 & Stars, PCGS graded MS64 Brown . Lustrous dark chocolate and olive brown with delicate overtones of bluish steel on both sides. The fields are satiny and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. The only marks are a tiny nick in the hair at the brow, a speck of darker toning over the left edge of the O in ONE, and a tiny planchet chip right of the center dot on the reverse. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The repunching at UN is sharp, including a fine but complete arc inside the bottom of the U. The die cut across the cheek is bold. Called MS63 and tied for CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 net AU50 and tied for CC#4, his photo #21868. Our grade is MS62+, close to MS63. 37075.64/13086957
