EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 457 1834 N-2 R-1 VG8 . Medium olive brown, darker in some protected areas. A bit dirty with dark old crud atop the wreath and in some protected areas, otherwise free of notable marks. Nice bold date and legends.

LOT 461 1837 N-5 R-2 Small Letters NGC MS62BN . Attractive golden tan and light olive with traces of very faded mint color on the reverse. Free of notable marks, choice with great eye appeal. Small Letters, the most difficult of three Red Book varieties of this date. Our grade is AU50+. The Jack Conour provenance is noted on the label. 2598844-020

LOT 458 1834 N-5 R-5 NGC VF Details Rev Damage . Large 8, Small Stars, Medium Letters. Near VF sharpness but there are a couple scratches, one at star 11 and another UN in UNITED, as well as a notable dig over E in ONE. Trivial marks otherwise. Semi-glossy dark chocolate brown with lighter brown on the high points of the devices. Our grade is F12.

LOT 459 1835 N-8 R-1 Head of 1836 XF40 . Attractive golden brown with puffs of steel toning on both sides, more so on the obverse. There are some trivial nicks in the left obverse field. Smooth surfaces with mint frost remaining in the protected areas.

LOT 462 1839/6 N-1 R-3 Head of 1836 VF25 . Glossy attractive chocolate brown and light steel with hints of ruddy brown and olive around AMERICA. A small pin scratch under the chin is the only mark. Smooth, hard surfaces. Graded VF25 by Del Bland.

LOT 460 1835 N-10 R-4+ F15 . VF35 sharpness but there are rim nicks at UNITED and rim damage from D in UNITED to O in OF. Semi-glossy golden brown and chocolate brown surfaces. Bold double chin, lips, profile, and most stars. Fine die cracks from the date over to stars 1-3 and 11-13 as well as one on the reverse from the dentils through MERIC.
