LOT 449 1826 N-1 R-2 VF25+ . XF45 sharpness but dark with microscopic granularity in some fields and protected areas. The notable marks include a dull nick on Liberty’s cheek, and old scratches around star 13 and AT in STATES. Dark steel and olive browns. MDS, with the obverse rim cud break over star 6.

LOT 453 1829 N-6 R-1 F15+ . Mostly medium brown with lighter golden brown underneath, mostly around the peripheries. There is a bit of old crud in some of the protected areas, and a rim bruiseat O in OF, trivial marks otherwise. Bold date and legends.

LOT 454 1830 N-6 R-4 Small Letters Reverse VF20 . Choice tan brown surfaces except an area of ruddy brown at star 6 and a strip of oxidation on the bottom reverse and edge below the ribbon. The only marks are a couple faint hairline scratches under ES in STATES and a few on Liberty’s cheek only visible under a glass, all that blend in well. Smooth surfaces. EDS.

LOT 450 1827 N-11 R-1 VF35 . AU50 sharpness but lightly corroded with traces of old verdigris in the protected areas. Free of notable marks otherwise. Dark brown and charcoal surfaces. MDS, die state b.

LOT 451 1828 N-6 R-1 VF30 . 10 points sharper but dirty with old crud in the fields and protected areas. There are also various trivial marks on the portrait and obverse fields, nothing major but enough to warrant mention. Medium steel with underlying light brown on the obverse, the reverse mostly golden brown with steel on the devices and legends.

LOT 455 1831 N-7 R-1 AU50 . Attractive faded mint red mellowed light brown and steel tones. Only the most trivial of marks visible on the portrait and fields, nothing major or distracting. Frosty mint luster covers the protected areas. Nice eye appeal.

LOT 452 1828 N-8 R-3 VF20 . 5 points sharper but there is an area of microgranular crud or build up around ONE CE on the reverse. Smooth surfaces otherwise with only the most trivial of marks. No verdigris. Medium chocolate brown with lighter brown in some obverse fields and deeper steel around stars 7-9.

LOT 456 1833 N-5 R-1 VF20 . 10 points sharper but there are minor nicks and traces of old verdigris and crud in some reverse protected areas. The marks are most notable behind the mouth, on either side of the portrait, and on the rim above STATES. Glossy medium chocolate and light browns.
