 TERMINAL STATE S-225

LOT 373 1802 S-225 R-3 AG3 . Glossy steel brown and chocolate. Smooth with no significant defects, just well worn. A shallow planchet chip at the right top of the M is a good identifying mark. TDS with a raised cud break that obliterates most of ES-O. Only three examples of the die state are known to us, and this one is comparable to the other two.

 EXTREMELY RARE LATE S-226

LOT 374 1802 S-226 R-3 F12 . Glossy chocolate and steel brown. Smooth with trivial marks including a tiny planchet flake at the top of the E in UNITED that can help identify this cent. LDS, Breen state IV, with a clear die crack from the rim through BE and the hair and down the nose arcing to the rim before the end of the nose. Only six of this die state are known to us. Noyes graded F15 net VG10, his photo #37782.
