EAC 2026 Reg

LOT 331 1798 S-167 R1 Large 8, Style II Hair VF25 . Glossy chocolate brown and steel with lighter brown in protected areas on the obverse. Lightly worn and smooth except for a patch of microscopic roughness and verdigris on the bust. A vertical nick over the right top of the T in CENT is the only other notable defect. EDS but not the earliest, Breen state I late, with very light die chips on the reverse. The number “10” is neatly punched into the edge below the date, most likely to identify this piece as the Proskey 10 die variety.

FINEST SEMI-UNIQUE TERMINAL S-168

LOT 332 1798 S-168 R3 Small 8, Style II Hair G5 . Glossy chocolate brown and steel. The highpoints are smooth while traces of extremely fine roughness show in the fields and protected areas. No verdigris and the only notable mark is a small planchet fissure over the second A in AMERICA. The date is strong for the grade and most of the legends are clear. Terminal die state, unknown to Breen, with a bold cud break connecting AM to the rim. Only two examples are known today, and this is the finest piece. Another great die state from the Fred Borcherdt collection.

LOT 334 1798 S-175 R3 Small 8, Style II Hair VF20 . Sharpness EF40 with extremely fine granularity under mostly glossy dark olive brown and steel toning. The notable marks are a pit under the B in LIBERTY, a couple tiny ones at the edge over IB, and a small planchet flake at the hairline left of the eye. Specks of verdigris can be found hidden around the devices on the reverse. LDS, Breen state VI, with die cracks on the reverse and a cud break at the U in UNITED.

LOT 333 1798 S-170 R-3 VF25+ . Glossy chocolate brown with darker olive brown in the protected areas. Only a few trivial marks, including a couple rim bumps below the bust tip and at L in LIBERTY. Smooth hard surfaces. Nice eye appeal for the grade. LDS, Breen state IV.
