EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 217 1808 C-3 R-1 AU50 . Glossy bluish steel brown and chocolate blending to light olive on the reverse. Traces of golden tan faded down from mint color can be found in some of the protected areas on both sides. No spots or stains and the only notable marks are a very faint curved hairline scratch in the field off the tip of the nose, a tick on the right top of the first 8, and a tiny rim nick right of the neck. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0, with faint vertical die rust streaks in the field before the portrait. Struck slightly off center to K-3. Most of the dentils are clear and the reverse is rotated 10 degrees CCW. Removed from a PCGS slab graded AU58 (Label included, #1107.58/3716836).

LOT 218 1809 C-1 R-4 VG10 . F15 sharpness but cleaned long ago and now toned olive and steel brown’s with subtle bluish steel tones. There are also some tiny pits on Liberty’s neck and right of star 4 visible under a glass. Smooth surfaces otherwise. Manley state 2.0, the reverse has a crack through the tops of MERICA. LOT 219 1809 C-2 R-3 EF45 . AU sharpness but light corrosion around the reverse peripheries has been removed leaving some deep crimson color. Otherwise pleasing olive brown surfaces with hints of underlying golden tan mellowed down from faded mint color. Fee of notable marks. Manley state 2.0, there is a crack through stars 9 to 13 and into the field below star 13. This is the Manley Plate Coin for the variety. Broken out of an NGC UNC Details holder with the Jules Reiver provenance noted (label included 5083478-037).
