EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 180 1797 C-3a R-3 Low Head VF20+ . 5 points sharper with a few fine diagonal hairline scratches at F-AM, another right of the D in UNITED, and a faint one down through the Y in LIBERTY, plus a light rim nick at the R in AMERICA. Otherwise this piece is choice with outstanding eye appeal for the grade. Very attractive glossy medium brown and chocolate. EDS, Manley State 1.0. 80.2 grains. A premium example of the “Low Head” variety.

LOT 181 1797 C-3b R-4 Low Head VG7 . A few points sharper but there is old verdigris around many of the devices, hairline scratches at and below LIBERTY, and minor granularity on the upper right reverse. Otherwise smooth surfaces. Struck over a large cent with an arc of dentils visible through the date on the obverse and over OF on the reverse. Attractive light to medium brown color. Manley State 3.0.

LOT 182 1800 C-1 R-2 VF35 . Attractive glossy chocolate brown and light steel with mint frost in the protected areas. Virtually flawless with excellent eye appeal. MDS, Manley state 3.0, with clear rim cuds over LIB.
