LOT 99 1798 S-170 R-3 Small 8, 2nd Hair Style F15 . VF30 sharpness but cleaned and now varying shades of red and steel with wispy hairlines left across the surfaces. There are also a nick behind the hair braid, a trivial tick behind the eye, and a tiny rim bump at the first A in AMERICA. LDS with a curved die break in the left obverse field and ST in STATES gone. Ther remaining date and legends are full and complete.

LOT 100 1798 S-170 R-3 Small 8, 2nd Hair Style VG10 . VF35 sharpness but there are spots of corrosion on both sides and several scratches scattered on the obverse at the bust tip, upper hair, and at LI and T in LIBERTY. Mottled light brown and steel patina with corrosion spots under Y in LIBERTY, nestled behind the hair above the braid, and on the bottom reverse. E-MDS Breen state II, Double Flange Edge. Glossy surfaces otherwise.

LOT 101 1798 S-184 R-1 Small 8, 2nd Hair Style VF25 . 5 points sharper with traces of granular verdigris on the lower reverse. Smooth surfaces otherwise, deep chocolate and olive with lighter brown on some highpoints. There are some trivial contact marks in the fields of both sides, and a few on the cheek, jawline, and Liberty’s chest. LDS with reverse rim breaks ove rUNITED. Strong date and legends.
