INDIANAPOLIS EAC 2024 TERMINAL S-4 CHAIN

LOT 177 1793 S-4 R3 Chain AMERICA with Periods VG10. Sharpness near VF20 but fine porosity covers the fields and protected areas. Both sides were lightly smoothed, especially the field before the portrait. No verdigris but there are a few marks including a rim bruise off the chin, a few hairline scratches on the face and neck, and a few more in the field right of the chain. Attractive glossy medium brown. The date, legends, and two periods are all clear and the eye appeal is decent in spite of the defects. LDS, Breen state III, with a small cud between strong cracks off the lower ends of the hair. Ex the Del Rio Collection

LOT 178 1793 S-4 R3 Chain AMERICA with Periods ANACS Fair-2 Details, Corroded, Planchet Lamination. Slightly glossy chocolate brown. Heavily worn. There is no trace of the date but most of LIBERTY and the chain remain visible. Covered with fine roughness and there are some significant nicks in the field behind the head, but the major defect is the quality of the planchet. There are several parallel planchet lamination streaks on the right half of the obverse, the strongest from the cheek to the rim at the end of the bust. Our grade is Basal State-1+.

LOT 180 1793 S-8 Wreath Cent ANACS VF Details, Corroded. Partly glossy dark olive brown with slightly lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. Covered with fine to moderate granularity but there is no notable verdigris. There are numerous rim bruises on the obverse, mostly on the lower half; the strongest of these is at the tip of the bust. MDS with a diagonal crack and swelling in the center of the reverse. The date and legends are complete and easily readable. Our grade is net VG7. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 2793949

LOT 179 1793 S-6 R3 Wreath Cent Fair-2. Considerably sharper, probably VG8, but dented around the rims and there are a couple dull dents on both sides as well. A very dull scratch or scrape in the field before the portrait is the only other meaningful defect. The surfaces are smooth, quite nice for a Wreath Cent, with glossy light chocolate and steel brown toning. The date is easily readable although the bumps do impinge on the bottom of the 1 and 93.
