INDIANAPOLIS EAC 2024 CONDITION CENSUS 1855 N-12
LOT 527 1855 N-12 R1 Upright 55 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous bluish steel and olive with underlying mellowed mint red covering about 15% of the planchet. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is outstanding. No spots or stains, only a few microscopic contact marks including a tiny tick on the jawline over the throat and a few diagonal hairlines on the neck. MDS, die state b. The fine die lines in the field at the inner curl are gone. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#2 in the Grellman census. LOT 528 1856 N-20 R3+ MS60. Frosty light bluish steel brown with at least 5% of the mint red remaining, mostly on the reverse. A barely visible spot of darker toning left of star 1 and a tiny rim nick at ER in AMERICA are the best identifying marks. The left obverse field is covered with very shallow low spots from debris (lubricant) on the die. MDS, die state b. The die line from the leaf to the top of the E in ONE is gone but the fine crack on the rim at stars 12-13 has not formed. Tied for CC#6.
