Lot 12 1794 S-20b R-4+ Head of 1793, Edge of 1794 VF25. Rather glossy dark olive and chocolate brown. Five points sharper with a dull nick in the center of the cap, some light contact marks on the neck, and a couple small pinpricks at O in ONE and N in CENT. Tied for CC#8 in the Noyes census, his photo #25104. An outstanding example of the 1794 with Head of 1793 type. $ 32,000 Ex; England - Stephen C. Lot 14 1794 S-20b R-4+ Head of 1793, Edge of 1794 ANACS VG 8 Details. Dark olive brown and steel. The obverse is rather glossy while the reverse is closer to matte. Fine granularity covers the planchet, strongest in protected areas. The only notable marks are a chip on the shoulder above 79, a nick hidden in the hair, and a rim bruise below the 94. EDS, Breen state I. The date is strong and the legends are complete, although the legends on the reverse are relatively weak as usual because those elements were struck in relatively low relief. 7341071 $ 2,950 Ex; Charles B. Lot 13 1794 S-20b R-4 Head of 1793 NGC Fine Details (Burnished). Dark brown and deep steel patina with traces of microgranularity under the burnished surfaces. The only notbale mark is a dig under IT in UNITED. UNITED is faint but otherwise readable legends and strong date. 6057066-005 $ 6,850 Ex; Rendell - Oeschner - Terranova - J.
