Lot 113 1794 S-57 R-1 PCGS XF45. Glossy dark steel brown and olive. The only notable marks are a few microscopic planchet chips in the field near the rim before the portrait. E-MDS, Breen state II, before any of the “trenches” formed in the field before the face. The depression over ICA is clear. Lot 114 1794 S-57 R-1 PCGS XF Detail (Environmental Damage). Steel and olive brown patina with traces of microgranularity across the surfaces and scattered pits at TY in LIBERTY and in the obverse fields. Sharp full details. 901374.97/45348076 $ 1,500
Lot 115 1794 S-58 R-3 PCGS AU53. Attractive glossy medium brown and light olive. The only notable defect is a tiny planchet fissure on the rim over the right side of the Y in LIBERTY, as struck. Sharply struck E-MDS, Breen state II late. A fine die crack meanders from the dentils above the T in UNITED through NIT but does not extend to the adjacent U. A choice, smooth cent with excellent eye appeal and a nice provenance. Graded VF35 net VF30 and tied for CC#10 in the Noyes census, his photo #25027.
