1794 Large Cent Price List

EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

Lot 17 1794 S-22 R-1 Scarce EDS PCGS MS63BN. Lustrous dark steel brown and chocolate with underlying frosty lighter brown faded down from mint color showing through in protected areas. There are the usual microscopic planchet flakes scattered about both sides, strongest at the O in OF, hardly visible to the unaided eye. Great eye appeal, just a touch of rub on the highest points from mint state. Scarce EDS, Breen state I, before the usually seen “mounds” formed on the reverse as a result of die sinking during use. Called AU55 and tied for CC#1 honors in the Breen/Bland census. Noyes says AU55 and tied for CC#1 as well, his photo #20379. 35531.63/13457247 $ 32,500 Ex; B.
