2024 EAC Sale

EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 151 1826 C-2 R3+ EF40. At least 5 points sharper but a glass reveals a few small patches of microscopic roughness, mostly at AT in STATES. Otherwise quite nice with just minor marks, mostly on the cheek and bust tip. MDS, Manley state 2.0, with fine die clashmarks. The repunching on the 6 is sharp. Removed from an ANACS slab graded AU55 (ANACS label #2426262 included)

LOT 148 1825 C-2 R2 AU50+. Frosty steel brown and chocolate with luster in protected areas on the reverse. Sharp with just light friction on the highpoints. EDS, Manley state 1.0. The end of the wreath stem is sharply defined.

Ex 2012 EAC Sale, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 5/5/2012:45 (lot ticket included)

Ex Thomas D. Reynolds 5/2013 (includes the Reynolds sales envelope)

LOT 149 1826 C-1 R1 PCGS AU Detail, Questionable Color. Lustrous reddish steel brown with light bluish steel overtones. A sharp, attractive piece but the color is not original. There is a light touch of rub on the highest points of the devices and a few trivial marks. A minor scratch on the cheek and a short scratch at the left foot of the L in HALF are good identifying marks. MDS, Fuhrman state 3, Manley state 4.0. Our grade is net EF45+, very close to AU50. 1144.91/47134592

LOT 152 1828 C-1 R1 AU55. Lustrous light to medium olive with peeps of faded mint red on both sides. Just a hint of rub on the highpoints and no notable marks. MDS.

Ex 2016 EAC Sale 4/9/2016:77 (lot ticket included)

LOT 150 1826 C-2 R3+ EF40+. Glossy chocolate and olive brown. Light wear and trivial marks, none notable. MDS, Manley state 2.0. The fields are hard and slightly reflective thanks to a recent die polishing and the repunching on the 6 is clear.

LOT 153 1828 C-3 R1 AU50. Frosty light olive and steel. Satiny and attractive with trivial marks. LDS, Manley state 4.0.
