EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 529 1856 N-21 R1+ Italic 5 MS60. Glossy light olive blending to darker olive brown in protected areas. Possibly lightly cleaned and retoned, but the color is attractive and the underlying flowline luster is intact. A single vertical nick in the field before the nose is the only notable mark. M-LDS, die state b early. The die line from the dentils to the top of the second S in STATES is faint.

LOT 531 Pair of Encased Large Cents. Includes an old card from Thomas L. Elder with an 1820/19 N-2 encased in macerated US currency, and a modern card from Butternut with an 1843 Petite Head cent encased in aluminum ring embossed with a small military insignia (colonel). Lot of 2 pieces.

LOT 530 1857 N-1 R1 Large Date NGC graded AU58. Medium brown with darker dirt and soft verdigris in protected areas. Needs a bath. No marks, just light wear. MDS. Our grade is VF35. 369616-033
