LOT 313 1800/79 S-194 R3 Overdate 80 over 79 VF20. Glossy olive and chocolate with a couple splashes of reddish chocolate brown at ST and OF at the top of the reverse. Smooth and attractive with only a few trivial marks; a tiny horizontal nick high on the cheek is the only notable one. Otherwise the obverse is choice. A nice cent for the grade. LDS, Breen state VII, with strong cud breaks at IC and the bottom of the reverse, and the break under the fraction touches the denominator.

LOT 312 1800/79 S-192 R3 Overdate 80 over 79 PCGS Genuine, Smoothed. Sharpness VF35 but expertly recolored glossy light olive and medium brown. The planchet is mostly smooth and the obverse is quite attractive, but there are patches of roughness on the reverse, strongest at ATE. No verdigris and the only contact mark is a barely visible rim bruise at K-8 on the obverse. M-LDS, Breen state III, with die cracks on the reverse. Our grade is net VF20.

LOT 314 1800/79 S-195 R5 Overdate 80 over 79 F15. Sharpness VF30 but cleaned and retoning, now an attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate with traces of lighter tan in protected areas. Smooth except for a tiny patch of microscopic roughness in the field close before the face. Just a few minor contact marks including a thin diagonal nick left of the hair ribbon and a light rim nick before the neck. MDS, Breen state III, with a clear die crack through RTY to the rim before the face. A very nice example of this tough variety, one that may deserve a slightly higher grade when the retoning “fully matures.” And it comes with a very nice provenance.
